dcterms.abstractTheatre productions were the creative outlet of Musgrove's scholarly pursuits. Through his writing, Musgrove critically engaged with playwrights and aimed to re-examine historicity with a fresh eye. This demonstrated in his lecture series on Ben Jonson and William Shakespeare, through which he proposes the two were allies rather than opponents divided by the different perspectives of classicist versus Elizabethan.en
