dcterms.abstractThese are rough sketches by Musgrove for the set of the 1951 production of {{The lady's not for burning}}, performed by the Combined Dramatic Societies of Auckland. Contrary to popular belief that medieval stage settings are grey and gloomy, this set was designed to create a pleasant and airy room with an atmosphere that was still historically accurate of the Middle Ages.en
