Abstract:	In this article, Parlane describes in detail her experience of travelling to Frankfurt and Mexico City to visit two of Stevenson's exhibitions. The figure of Jose de Jesus Martinez is the basis for both these exhibitions. Parlane describes her own experience of the work alongside stories about Martinez's life that she has researched and talked about with Stevenson.
