Abstract: | "It is with the following words that I hope to introduce to you, the reader, the fourth Blue Oyster annual publication, designed to encourage further reflection and critical thought on our 2015 programme. Each article has been commissioned from contributing artists and writers to form a series of responses that range from interviews to critical reflections, panel transcripts, artists texts and excerpts." Chloe Geoghegan, director of Blue Oyster, reflects of 2015 "the year of the curator" and the many projects, exhibitions and initiatives hosted by or involving Blue Oyster, including workshops led by Megan Tamati-Quennell entitled 'Whakaanga me Whakawhiti \ Engagement and Exchange' and with Rebecca Lal entitled, 'I will need words', as well as an interactive text by Brendan Jon Philips and Son La entitled 'The Presence of Absence' and the online publication 'Llyr'. Also discussed was the Otago University Media, Film and Communication conference 'trans/forming feminisms: media, technology, identity'. |
