dc.description.abstract"Auckland, the largest city in New Zealand, is famously and proudly nuclear-free. Experiencing an exhibition of artworks by Indonesian artists Irwan Ahmett and Tita Salina within this context - a result of the duo's three-month fellowship at St Paul St Gallery, a contemporary art center situated within the city - was somewhat jarring. It was as though these artists' works had come from the future, with ominous words of warning for this nonconformist, peaceful nation in the antipodes."-
