Abstract: In this article Ensing reflects on the VANNA (Visual Artists against Nuclear Arms) mural - "New Zealand's only Peace Wall" - on the corner of Karangahape and Posonsby Roads. Covering its development through three different stages from 1986-2009, Ensing discusses the shifting attitudes towards the project, and politics as a whole, over this period.
