Title: | Annual exhibition of Auckland art society |
Publisher: | INZART/The University of Auckland Library=Te Tumu Herenga |
Abstract: | Perhaps one of the most notable features of this year's exhibition of the Auckland Society of Arts was the small number of works hung. The Selection Committee evidently have realised that that the worth of an exhibition lies in quality and not quantity. I was again impressed, as I have been in the past, with the outstanding preponderance of landscape and flower studies, and by the most entire absence of figure compositions, of drawings, especially of the head and figure, and also paintings of the head and figure. |
