Abstract: APRI is an independent, not-for-profit organisation which has the following objectives- To facilitate and promote research on Asia/Pacific issues particularly in the fields of business, law, economics, politics, international relations, public affairs and associated disciplines. To provide a forum, independent from existing institutions, for those with a scholarly interest in the Asia/Pacific to conduct research, discuss issues and exchange ideas. To provide a bridge between: Academics in various New Zealand educational institutions (universities, polytechnics and schools) : The NZ educational sector and other parts of the community, such as the legal profession, government ministries and enterprises : New Zealanders and foreign counterparts and to bring together teams to seek funding in order to conduct research projects
