Title: | The edge of life |
Publisher: | INZART/The University of Auckland Library=Te Tumu Herenga |
Abstract: | Anne Manne looks at a selection of Ron Mueck sculptures which depict 'the edge of life' in the form of a pregnant woman, a newly born baby girl and a mother and child. Mueck's sculptures deal with the profound intensity of birth, life, and death, and we are taken closer to a sense of the sacred, while simultaneously confronted with our own messy humanity. |
