dcterms.description.bioHenry Scotland was born in London in 1821, the son of a Chief Justice of Trinidad. A barrister, he moved to New Zealand in 1850. Scotland was appointed to the New Zealand Legislative Council in 1868 and was a member of the Upper House for 42 years. He died in Wellington in 1910.en
