dcterms.description.bioBenjamin Freeman Coleman (1758?-1840s?), of Bristol, England. He was the father of Rev. John Noble Coleman (1791-1872), who inscribed the book in which this plate is pasted to Rev. Richard Davis, an Anglican missionary for the Church Missionary Society in New Zealand from 1824 until his death in 1863. Rev. J.N. Coleman compiled `A memoir of the Rev. Richard Davis, for thirty-nine years a missionary in New Zealand’, based in part on letters between himself, his father and the Rev. Davis.en
