Whenua Films Limited : Creating a home for indigenous storytelling

Abstract

Together Ainsley Gardiner and Cliff Curtis established Whenua Films Limited. On a grand scale, Whenua Films aspires to facilitate an increase in the number of Maori film producers, directors and well-developed script writers in New Zealand and to provide these individuals with an infrastructure to support their interests and recognise the sources of their stories. In order to achieve their goals, Ainsley and Cliff first needed to build a sustainable and successful film company
