Abstract:	When Nuplex Industries Limited (Nuplex) purchased Australian Chemical Holdings (ACH) in March 1998, it was only the second time a listed New Zealand company had purchased a listed Australian company. The takeover was particularly unusual because the target was twice the size of the takeover company. Nuplex is the quiet achiever; few people had heard of the company, which has grown to be the largest resin manufacturer in Australasia
