Abstract:	To accelerate the rejuvenation of the New Zealand apple industry, the Apple Futures Project was instigated. Pipfruit NZ Inc (PNZ) has led the industry in the application of innovative orchard management techniques and in the implementation of a low spray residue programme. PNZ developed and introduced technology to enable the production of fruit with ultra low chemical residue levels
