Abstract: | On the occasion of the exhibition 'Running Neo-Geo games Under Mame' at City Gallery Wellington, Julian McKinnon speaks to Californian artist Petra Cortright. Discusses the artists use of titles and sources, informed by search engine optimisation and retro computer games. Cortright describes her processes which include gathering images from the internet through Google image searches, followed by sessions in Photoshop. The artist describes her interest in colour and the differences between digital and traditional painting practices. |
