Abstract: | "Under the rising of Puaka and during Dunedin's 2016 Matariki festival in June, Ngahuia Harrison's solo exhibition 'You Can Eat Everything But The Rocks' explored one of Aotearoa's most precious resources: wai. Considering water as fundamental to all island-dwelling beings geographically, spiritually, financially, politically and ecologically, the exhibition brought together a series of film and photographic assemblages that, in the following text, Auckland-based writer and critic Natasha Matila-Smith responds to from her own perspective and experiences of Harrison's recent work." |
