Abstract: Reviews an exhibition of paintings by Hamish Coleman at PG Gallery 192, entitled 'Swept Under', 10 October-3 November 2017. Describes how works in exhibition, the artist's first solo show at the gallery, take stills from New Zealand short films as source material for the works, as well as making references to musical tracks. Discusses the format of the works and the artists use of shaped and incised canvases.
