Abstract:	Reviews the exhibition 'the merrier' at the Hocken Gallery, following Miranda Parkes' tenure as the 2016 Frances Hodgkins Fellow in Dunedin. Describes the colourful wall patterns that accompany the installation of works and the varied elements of the exhibition which includes paintings, suspended silk banners, and sculptures. Considers references to domestic objects and interiors in the works, and the artists use of found objects such as newspaper.
