Abstract:	Claire Ulenberg reflects on her experiences as a guest of the Varda Artists Residency Programme, which saw her living and working on a houseboat, the Vallejo, in Sausalito, California. Discusses the history of the houseboat, rescued from demolition by the Greek-French artist Jean Yanko Varda. Discusses international artists undertaking the residency including Hannah Gartside, Carla Cascales Alimbau, Marta Cascales Alimbau and Rachel Lord.
