Abstract: | Article speaks to a newly commission 16mm film work by Fiona Connor for 'Object Classrooms' a solo exhibition at Govett-Brewster. Connor's work explores the arrival, damage to, and later disappearance of artworks by geometric abstractionist John McLaughlin while in transit in New Zealand in 1973. Her show accompanies group exhibition 'Abstractions: Works from the Govett-Brewster Collection' and "connects Connor's interests to the formal experiments undertaken by New Zealand painters in the latter part of the 20th century". |
