Abstract: Speaking to the practice of photographer Kevin Capon, the author describes his work as an archive of images unraveling the "cultural anxieties and changing communities of the past four decades." Article discusses the exhibition 'Kevin capon: Portraits 1984-85', a collection of portraits featuring notable individuals from the New Zealand arts community, including Ralph Hotere and Merata Mita, and its more recent exhibition at the Mokau Museum and Gallery.
