dc.description1 colour: installation view of the exhibition at Te Uru-
Article speaks to the exhibition of works by Kihara, for which the artist has "meticulously researched both historical and modern views of what is and what it means to be classified as a savage". Author considers how the exhibition highlights race relations in conflict with the on-going effects of colonialism in the present-day. Discusses depiction of Ioane Ioane, Samoan artist and former sportsman, who is personified as the Polynesian demi-god Maui in the series.-
