Abstract: Article speaks to art in the age of smart phones and social media, with a focus on the role of Instagram in changing "the way people experience and consume art", as well as influencing "the very creation and curation of art." Discusses highly "Instagrammable" artists Yayoi Kusama and 'The obliteration room' exhibited at Auckland Art Gallery; Seung Yul Oh's balloon sculptures in Dunedin; and response to Hannah Valentine's MFA work at the 2017 Elam Grad Show by Instagram users. Considers the relationship between smartphones, memory, and ability to interact.
