Abstract: Article reviews 'My hair is longer and the plums are ready now', reflecting on the influence of Romantic-period artists such as Turner and Constable on Bosshard's oil paintings of rural and coastal scenes, charcoal drawings, and machine-embroidered babies' booties. Considers the exhibition's "old-fashioned" stylistic conventions as well as its "considerable range and complexity". Discusses the works 'Poplar Trees, Mastrick', 'Paptuanuku and Ranginui (Mackenzie Country)' and 'Some Trees'.
