Authors: | Bennett, Lucinda |
Publisher: | INZART / The University of Auckland Library = Te Tumu Herenga |
Abstract: | Article speaks to the recent drawing work of artist Salome Tanuvasa for upcoming exhibition 'untitled' (2018) at Tim Melville Gallery. Discusses her drawings as "frank records of her immediate environment" and the conditions of their making, including the "humble materials at hand" as well as "the snatched time they are made within." Considers her drawing as a "linear visual language" which is used to "approach the idea of language itself", and "the ways in which verbal and visual languages can create meaning and convey experiences of living." |
