Abstract: | Article speaks to new work by painter Andre Hemer. Discusses his response to image-making in the digital age and use of technology including flatbed scanners and digital printers to produce multidimensional paintings. Considers the cultural context of Hemer's early practice, and his paintings as "proof of the material possibilities offered by digital technologies", particularly "the idea of transference between materiality and form."
