Title: | Advances in ambient noise tomography : Measurement, inversion methodology, and inference of azimuthal anisotropy |
Keywords: | Volcanology Geophysics |
Issue Date: | 2009 |
Abstract: | In this thesis, I advance the methodology of ambient noise tomography and at the same time study the crustal and upper mantle structures of New Zealand and the western United States. a novel inversion technique that I call eikonal tomography possesses many advantages over the traditional straight ray inversion method and can be used to constrain both isotropic and anisotropic structures and their uncertainties. |
