dc.description.abstract | Fifteen years, The Hype has reached the top of the music world. Their last album, however, received mixed reviews. On the eve of a meeting to decide the new record's artistic direction, the band is split as to whether, and to what extent, change is necessary. The Hype case and role play can be used with a variety of audiences to experience and discuss dynamics of group decision making. The exercise and debriefing provide opportunities to explore issues related to: (1) conflict in teams; (2) shared leadership; (3) influence; (4) technical vs adaptive change; (5) organisational identity; and (6) career orientations. The teaching note comprises the epilogue and five role play characters. Related: The Hype : Epilogue, Case Centre, Teaching note, case Reference no. 408-025-8 | en |
