Title: | The Painted apple moth eradication programme : vignette version (C) |
Issue Date: | 14-Mar-2014 |
Abstract: | Four-case series (310-019-1 to 310-022-1). On 9 September, 2002, the New Zealand Cabinet approved the expenditure of $90 million for an all-out effort to eradicate the painted apple moth. In a reversal of its previously-held position, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry would make an 'all guns blazing' attack on the pest. Anti-spray activists were outraged at the news. The third part of this set of short case studies raises issues of communication and stakeholder management, and also discusses the management of small but vocal interest groups.
