| Abstract: | Asian (Chinese, Indian, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, Cambodian) apprentices make up 0.7% of the BCITO trainee numbers. This is significantly less than the built environment average of 4% which is half the total representation of the NZ workforce at 8%. Asians are a growing part of the New Zealand population. Understanding their contribution to the future workforce and the skills they will bring, will help support the government’s economic growth agenda, by ensuring New Zealand has the skills it needs |
