Abstract: | Explores the 2017 SCAPE Public Art Season curated by Heather Galbraith, which brings together projects by ten artists engaging with different understandings and manifestations of time. Briefly mentions highlights of earlier SCAPE programmes. Discusses works by Anton Parsons, Gregor Kregar, Wayne Barrar and British artist Tom Dale. Describes Nina Oberg Humphries' project ''Are Pasifika' which consisted of four weeks of workshops designed to raise the visibility of Pasifika culture in Christchurch. Examines the light work 'KAOKAO' by Robert Jahnke and its reference to tukutuku patterns. Describes a public commission by Seung Yul Oh, to be unveiled in the closing week of the exhibition. |
